Cheers to Callanwolde

We had the honor of coordinating a beautiful early Spring wedding at the magnificent Callanwolde mansion this month.

Jill and Andrew returned to Jill's hometown of Atlanta to celebrate their marriage, as it's the city where the two first met before moving to Minnesota to pursue career opportunities where Jill is a teacher and Andrew is in Athletics Administration for U of M.

Despite the chill in the air as the sun set behind blooming dogwoods, it was a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by a raging reception in the Grand Ballroom. Jill and Andrew exchanged vows in front of family and friends in the amphitheater.

The bride's family crafted most of the centerpieces and florals, and Stylish Stems perfected the bridal party flowers.

Three Sisters Catering ensured not a guest went hungry and nailed the elegant presentation of dual buffets, multiple bars, and passed cocktail service. When the bride and groom couldn't sneak away upstairs for their quiet meal as originally planned, Kate and her team set up an impromptu table for two in a quiet corner of the kitchen. The newlyweds were completely fine with their less-than-romantic dinner for two, and I think that speaks volumes about their future. So often in marriage (and life), things don't always happen the way we envision...but the way we roll with those curveballs is what makes our lives richer and our relationships deeper. It may have been my favorite moment of the night!

MVP Band was the MVP (aside from the bride & groom, of course), and kept the dance floor hopping all night long.

I can't wait for the images captured by Brenda Upton and her team, so check back soon for the photo update.

2015 Pricing Guide & Booking Details

In order to better meet the needs of our prospective brides + grooms considering Kingston Stables for their wedding venue, we're updating our process a little bit.

We host a limited number of weddings April thru October.

In order to ensure our grounds are in pristine condition for each event and that our couples get the focused attention they deserve, each event is the exclusive event of an entire weekend. That means you won't run into another wedding party the entire weekend or feel like you're sharing a ballroom facility with someone else's friends + family. It also means we spread out our weddings throughout the season to give the natural surroundings time to recuperate after each wedding. Since our community is very small, we do not offer weddings on holiday weekends - we've learned the added lake traffic places too much toll on the small lake roads and doesn't give your guests a very positive experience.

Winter Ring Care

While the winter weather makes you want to cuddle by the fire with your sweetheart, don't forget to take precautions with your jewelry this time of year.

Those cozy mittens are super cute, but ring prongs can snag -- eventually weakening your ring prongs over time. It's a good time to have your jewelry checked by your jeweler. Many jewelers offer annual cleaning & maintenance as a courtesy to their customers.

Also, the cold weather makes your blood vessels constrict, shrinking the size of your fingers. This can make your rings slip off your finger more easily than usual, so take extra care when playing in the snow with your beloved.
